We are currently in the middle of our first winter snow storm. My kids keep looking out the window at the snow falling and are so anxious for daylight to hit in the morning so they can get out their winter hats and boots and go outside to build a snowman. No matter where you live though and no matter what the weather is like, you can always bring the snowman fun indoors. Start saving those recyclable plastic lids and have an afternoon full of fun making this adorable bottle cap printed snowman craft. Make sure to check out more fun snowman craft ideas near the bottom of this post from the kid craft stars!

Balloon Printed Chicks Kids Craft
I am super excited to be taking part in the Painting Challenge this month hosted by Messy Little Monster. Each day for 35 days a different blogger is highlighting a different painting technique for kids. Since we love painting with balloons at my house, I jumped at the chance to write about Balloon Printing. Along with the process of painting with balloons, I am also sharing this fun Chicks Craft you can make for Spring using balloon prints.

Apple Print Butterfly Kids Craft
After we made our stamped Bunny Craft the other day I started thinking about what other fun crafts we could make for Spring with stamping. I thought about the different types of prints made by fruits and vegetables and we decided to turn an apple print into a fun Butterfly Kids Craft.

Brussels Sprouts Stamped Bunny Craft for Kids
It's that time of the month again! I've joined together with the Kids Craft Stars to bring you our monthly craft challenge post. Every month we have a challenge between us bloggers to incorporate a different craft medium or technique into a kids craft. This month's challenge was to create a kids craft using a fruit or vegetable as a stamp. We love stamping crafts at our house but stamping with food is something we had actually never done. That made the challenge even more exciting for me! We decided to use Brussels Sprouts to stamp the fur on this cute Bunny Kids Craft.

Flower Garden Art
Flower gardens are such a beautiful sight in spring and summer. I'm sharing a tutorial over at PBS Parents showing you how simple it is to make this Flower Garden Art masterpiece. This project would go perfect with the book Planting a Rainbow Garden by Lois Ehlert. It's one of our personal favorites!

Coffee Filter Sun Art
Summer is in full swing and the temperature has been toasty outside! We went swimming the other day and even though we reapplied our sunscreen once we still all ended up with an unpleasant sunburn. Ouch! Since we've been kicking it indoors in the AC recouping the last couple days we decided to make some sun art using a coffee filter and some fun painting techniques.

Fish Stamped Ocean Art
Stamping crafts are a favorite at my house. It's been quite a while since we made one, so I thought of something that reminded me of summer (the ocean), and we came up with this Fish Stamped Ocean Art Activity. It turned out sooo fun!

Stamped Bunny Craft
My preschooler loves stamping crafts! Since Easter is coming up, I set up this simple stamped Bunny Craft for her. To go along with the bunny theme, we used a carrot cookie cutter for the stamping. We also added some spring colored glitter because you know, glitter makes everything better! :)

Circle Stamped Pumpkins
We made our last pumpkin craft of the season today after reading one of my favorite Halloween books, Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman. My preschooler has been practicing drawing circles so we played off of that when making this craft.
I cut pumpkins out of orange cardstock paper and my daughter used an empty toilet paper tube dipped in orange paint to stamp circles all over her pumpkin.
After our pumpkins were completely dry, we glued them onto a green background and glued a brown stem on them. Here is the design I made on my pumpkin below.

Bubble Wrap Printed Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkin Patch Art is always on our to-do list this time of year. We decided to use bubble wrap to give our pumpkins some fun texture this year and a cookie cutter to help define their shape.
Supplies you will need:
- green cardstock paper
- orange acrylic paint
- bubble wrap
- pumpkin cookie cutter
- black marker
- scissors
- school glue
- orange glitter
(or you could always use glitter glue)
- green glitter glue
1. Start by tracing your pumpkin cookie cutter onto a piece of bubble wrap with a black marker. Cut the shape out.
2. Paint the bottom of the bubble wrap (the bubble side) with orange paint and press the shape onto your green cardstock paper. Repeat as many times as you want to fill the paper.
3. Grab your pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter again, press it into orange paint and press it onto each bubble wrap pumpkin shape. It gives your pumpkins more definition. This is awesome hand-to-eye coordination practice for a toddler and preschooler as well. I was pleasantly surprised with how well my daughter matched up the cookie cutter shape to the bubble wrap pumpkins.
4. Once completely dry, add lines in your pumpkins with school glue, sprinkle them with orange glitter and dump off the excess glitter.
5. To finish off our pumpkin patch, use green glitter glue to draw vines around our pumpkins.
I love the texture of the bubble wrap in the pumpkins combined with the sparkly glitter. I can't wait to head up the pumpkin patch and bring home some pumpkins for the front porch!
Our favorite Pumpkin Patch Book is Pumpkin Hill by Elizabeth Spurr
.
It is a story about how one lonely pumpkin grew plumper and plumper and over time seeds from that pumpkin grew into a huge army of roly-poly pumpkins. A mighty wind sets those pumpkins plummeting downhill and they wake up a sleepy valley town. It's such a fun story!

Cookie Cutter Stamped Fall Tree
My preschooler and I began our welcoming of the fall season with this fun Fall Tree Craft today. It's simple enough for toddlers to create yet still fun for older kids (and big kid adults like myself) to make, and the end result is beautiful! All you need is a leaf shaped cookie cutter, some red, orange and yellow paint and some brown and blue paper.
Cut a tree trunk out of brown paper and glue it on to your blue background paper. Then dip your cookie cutter in red paint and make prints all over your paper. Wash off the cookie cutter and repeat with orange and yellow leaf prints. Make sure to make some prints along the bottom for falling leaves.
My daughter chose to use an Oak leaf shape and I used a Maple. It was a perfect opportunity to talk about fall colors while we created our artwork. She just turned 3 years old and besides cutting out the tree trunk, she completed this project completely on her own. It's definitely one to put on display this fall. :)
Thanks for stopping by! I have so many fun projects in the works, I can't wait to share with you. This is my favorite time of the year for crafting!
**I have a similar project to this pinned HERE. The website no longer exists and is routed to an etsy shop, but in an effort to stay genuine and give proper credit, I wanted to share a link to the original idea.

In case you missed our Fall Tree Craft last year, you can check it out HERE. There are some books listed in that post which we are reading again this year that are great for this time of the year.

Cupcake Liner Bunnies
I've been playing with cupcake liners again... Here's a simple and fun bunny craft for Easter.
We used an empty toilet paper roll to make the bunny ears. Bend the sides down of the empty TP roll to make a bunny ear shape.
Dip the TP roll into white paint and then on the top of the cupcake liners to make the bunny ears.
Finish the bunnies by using some pink paint in the ears and for the nose. Add some googly eyes and a mouth and whiskers with a black marker.
I keep forgetting to mention the two Easter books we've loved this year. We came home with a whole arm load, but these two were our favorites out of the bunch.
Peter Cottontail by Amanda Stephens, illustrated by Christopher Santoro.
Oh no! It's Easter morning and someone has stolen all the Easter eggs! Will
Easter be cancelled? Not if Peter Cottontail can help it. When he hears Wily
Wolf singing about his stolen eggs, Peter Cottontail hatches a plot to save
Easter. Not only is this a cute story, but I love how at the end of the book they tell you how many Easter eggs are found throughout the book and it challenges you to try to find them all. Both of my boys spent lots of time counting up all the eggs they could find.
The Easter Egg by Jan Brett
It's time for rabbits to decorate eggs for the Easter Rabbit. This year Hoppi is old
enough to join in, and if he can just make the winning egg, he will be the one
to help the Easter Rabbit on Easter. But Hoppi hasn't decided what kind of egg
to make. And as he hops along and sees one fantastic egg after another, he
begins to wonder how he can compete. Hoppi goes into the woods to think
about his egg, and just when he figures out that he only has to make the best
egg he can, his plans take a most unexpected turn. The illustrations on every page in this book are so fun! It is such a touching, sweet story!
