This past Christmas I bought my daughter a mermaid tail blanket. She can hardly leave anywhere without it. She loves sleeping in it and wearing it around the house, pretending to be a mermaid. I knew with her love of mermaids she would adore this wooden spoon mermaid craft. Now she has some little mermaid friends to play pretend with and put on fun puppet shows for me. If you have mermaid fans at your house, they are going to love this simple mermaid craft too!

Kung Fu Panda Cereal Craft
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CerealAnytime #CollectiveBias We sure hope you enjoy making this Kung Fu Panda Cereal Craft together as a family.
Sometimes inspiration for a kid craft comes at the most unexpected times...like when I'm walking down the cereal aisle at my local Walmart and see the new Kung Fu Panda Po Power Crunch. The truth is, some people look at a box of cereal as a simple breakfast food or afternoon snack, but at my house a box of cereal is often an invitation for an afternoon full of fun. Whether we use the actual cereal for crafting or re-purpose the box into something creative and fun, a box of cereal has endless amounts of opportunity.

Preschool Cotton Ball Clouds Activity
My preschooler and I made a trip to the grocery store this morning in a thick fog. My daughter was having so much fun observing the fog that she insisted we drive with her window down so she could get a closer look. As we walked through the parking lot into the store she said, "Mommy, we are walking in the clouds!" Not only was I impressed with her observation but it couldn't have come at a more perfect time since our creative preschool theme this week is all about weather. When we returned home we made this preschool cotton ball clouds activity and spent the rest of the morning learning all about clouds. Make sure to check out the other preschool weather activities near the end of this post!

Paper Bag Mermaid Craft for Kids
I still vividly remember sitting in the movie theater with my Girl Scout troop when I was 7 years old and watching The Little Mermaid. The moment I saw Ariel's long red hair, I became a lifelong fan. It probably had something to do with the fact that I'm a redhead. When my daughter was old enough for the movie we sat and watched it together and I saw her eyes light up just like mine did. She is of course a die hard mermaid fan now (and is also a redhead). If you have a mermaid fan in your house like me, this paper bag mermaid craft will surely bring a big smile to their face! It's simple to make and will bring hours of fun pretend play using it as a puppet.

Sponge Painted Shape Robots Craft
No matter how old you are, robots are always awesome! Their metal bodies, quirky movements and robotic voices always grasp interest and leave you in wonderment about science and technology. This makes them an especially fun topic to learn about in preschool. One fun way to explore robots in preschool is with using shapes. This week my preschooler and I had a blast sponge painting shapes and turning them into bright, kooky robots. Grab some sponges and get ready to have a riot of a good time with your preschooler making this sponge painted shape robots craft. Look for more fantastic robot themed preschool activities at the bottom of this post!

How to Make Inside Out Inspired DIY Popcorn Boxes
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #InsideOutMovieNight #CollectiveBias
I've been finding bits and pieces of popcorn on my couch and under my couch cushions for the last few days. While finding crumbs normally irks me since my kids aren't typically allowed to eat in the family room, this time it's actually a happy reminder of our fabulous family movie night from a few nights ago. Sometimes you just have to look past the mess and have fun, right? We watched Inside Out in theaters several months ago (on opening night nonetheless) and ever since walking out of the theater, we have anxiously been waiting to own a copy of the movie. When we saw that it would be available on November 3rd, you can envision me at Target that day, giddy as can be, with my copy of Inside Out in my cart and other supplies needed to make some fun Inside Out inspired DIY popcorn boxes for our family movie night.
