Paper Plate Christmas Elf Craft

Elves are popular characters during the holiday season so it's always fun to get out the crafting materials and make an adorable elf craft with the kids before Christmas. We actually put together this cute paper plate elf craft last year after making our similar Santa Claus craft, but since I didn't get a chance to share it last year before Christmas, I saved it all year and am excited to share it now. Couple this adorable elf craft with a Christmas book for an evening full of family fun!

Tissue Paper Fall Tree Craft

Fall time wouldn't be complete in my house without a fun Fall Tree Craft! It's something we look forward to every year. When I found out the kids craft stars craft challenge was all about tissue paper this month I was excited to dive in with the beautiful fall colors of red, orange, yellow and gold. We made this gorgeous Tissue Paper Fall Tree Craft. I love how scrunching up and adding tissue paper onto the tree is great for fine motor skills for younger kids but that it's also a fun craft for older children making it a perfect family activity.

Paper Plate Chicken Craft for Kids

My daughter chose the book Big Chickens by Leslie Helakoski for a bedtime story a few days ago. It's a fun book about a group of scaredy-cat chickens who are frightened by a wolf. As they run off they end up going on quite the adventure and by the end of their journey they discover their bravery. We decided to make a Paper Plate Chicken Craft for Kids to go along with the silly story.

Paper Plate Sunflower Craft

I love sunflowers! In the area I live we have some vacant fields nearby and they are loaded with wild sunflowers right now. I think they are beautiful! When we had the bubble wrap out the other week for our Octopus Craft my mind was racing with some other ways we could use it for crafting, and I realized the raised texture of the bubble wrap would work great in a Paper Plate Sunflower Craft. This one is super easy to make, perfect for a summer afternoon craft.

Paper Bag Hippopotamus Kids Craft

I am seriously obsessed with paper bag crafts! I love how paper bags are such a perfect base for a myriad of crafts and I love how afterwards the crafts are able to couple as a puppet for awesome pretend play. My preschooler and I recently read one of her favorite books, HICCUPotamus, and after we read it I had a flashback and remembered when we made our Paper Plate Hippopotamus Craft a few years ago. We decided to make one again, but this time, of course, we added in the paper bag and created this adorable Paper Bag Hippopotamus Kids Craft.

Paper Plate Fish Kids Craft {using liquid chalk}

This weekend we were feeling like making an ocean craft. It's been a while since we got out our Fun Chalk markers so we pulled them out with some paper plates and came up with this super fun Paper Plate Kids Craft using liquid chalk. The Fun Chalk not only adds fun, bright detail to the fish but it's a great way to make the craft more open-ended where kids can create a truly unique fish. You might want to whip out several paper plates just for yourself because it's so much fun you're going to want to make more than one.

Shamrock Twirler St. Patrick's Day Craft

Like most kids, my daughter loves pinwheels. Whenever we buy one at the store I even catch myself blowing it and watching it spin around and around. As a spin off to my daughter's love for pinwheels, we made this spinning Paper Plate Shamrock Twirler that brought a huge smile to her face. Look for a short video at the end of the post to see the twirler in action.
