Oh how I love spring time and watching mother nature spring to life! One of my favorites is seeing trees start throwing out pretty pink and white blossoms. To celebrate the beautiful season of spring we made this pretty yarn wrapped blossoming spring tree craft. It is perfect for spring time and the yarn wrapping and crunching tissue paper squares works those important fine motor muscles. Did I mention how pretty it is?!

Yarn Wrapped Cloud and Rainbow Craft
Making rainbow crafts is among my favorite things in spring time! In our excitement about the prediction of an early spring this year, we combined our recent favorite activity of yarn wrapping with some fun fine motor work and created this yarn wrapped cloud and rainbow craft.

Yarn Wrapped Christmas Tree Twig Ornament
My kids and I recently went on a nature walk and gathered up some materials we found that could be used for crafting. Whenever one of us picked up something it was fun to talk openly about different ways we could use the item in a craft. This in itself is a fun creative preschool activity! We came back with quite a pile of neat materials but my preschooler and I were especially excited about some twigs we gathered. Since our creative preschool theme this week is nature inspired Christmas ornaments, we combined our twigs with some fun fine motor work and made these yarn wrapped Christmas Tree Twig Ornaments. Make sure to check out more ideas for nature inspired ornaments at the bottom of this post!

Creative Play with Bunchems!

I've noticed a trend in the last few years where it's hard to find a toy that is both fun and encourages children to think and play creatively. Since I love to encourage my children to think creatively during craft time and play time, I'm always on the look out for new, great products to use in our home. We recently discovered Bunchems and not only are they fun but I am delighted with their endless possibility for creativity!

Yarn Wrapped Reindeer Craft for Kids
Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer is among the most popular Christmas characters and he's a favorite at our house. With Christmas time approaching it's the perfect time to pull out your favorite Rudolph children's book or the classic movie and then get crafting an adorable reindeer craft. For some extra inspiration, here's a great yarn wrapped reindeer craft that your kids will love creating! Not only is it adorable but the yarn wrapping and clothespins in this fun craft make for great fine motor work for kids.

Beaded Snail Kids Craft
After making our CD Snail craft last week, I've been thinking of more fun ideas for ways to make snails. It's been perfect timing for snail crafts too because my kids found some recently alongside a creek and were mesmerized by them. We've used beads before to create a dragonfly and lightning bug, and this time we created this cute Beaded Snail Kids Craft.

Rainbow Fish Alphabet Match
I loved coming across this "Rainbow Fish A, B, C" Book at my library last week. There isn't much text in it at all, it's basically a review of the ABC's in order on each page.

Beaded Dragonfly & Lightning Bugs
My kids love all the creepy crawly and flying insects that come out in summer. They get so excited when they spot a butterfly, ladybug, potato bug (which we like to call rollie-pollies), and especially Dragonflies. One night this fun idea hit me of how we could make our own Dragonfly and Lightning Bug (aka Firefly) out of pony beads and pipe cleaners and I'm thrilled with how the idea came together!

Washi Tape Shamrock Craft with Lacing Practice
My daughter noticed my recent purchase of shamrock washi tape in my craft closet the other day and she couldn't contain her excitement. When she asked if we could make a craft with it how could I say no?! Since she loved our Laced Heart craft so much last month, and with St. Patrick's Day being around the corner, we decided to make a Washi Tape Laced Shamrock.

Valentine's Day Activity Trays (Fine Motor, Numbers, Counting, Sorting Name Recognition)
One of my new goals for 2014 with homeschooling my 3-year old is to incorporate activity trays into our learning. My daughter works really well with this type of learning environment so I'm excited to see her progress as we use them this year. I made three trays last week that she enjoyed that incorporated fine motor, numbers, counting, sorting and name recognition using a Valentine's Day theme.

Valentine's Day Scissor Cutting Practice Tray
I saw such a fun Christmas Cutting Tray over at Mama.Papa.Bubba. last month and have been so excited to put one together for my daughter. Since Valentine's Day is coming up I set one up with all things pink, red, purple and hearts.
