100 Hearts Preschool Math Activity

My preschooler recently showed interest in counting from 1 to 100 by herself. I know having this skill down will be a huge benefit to her in Kindergarten next year so I've been working on putting together some activities for her that work on counting to 100. This 100 Hearts Preschool Math Activity puts some fun into learning and is a great compliment to Valentine's Day since it's all about hearts. We used fun little heart stamps in this activity but you could also use heart stickers as an alternative. Make sure to check out more creative preschool heart activities at the bottom of this post.

Magnetic Christmas Tree Busy Bag with Scotch® Expressions Tapes

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. I hope you and your kids enjoy this fun magnetic Christmas tree busy bag over the holidays. #CraftAmazing #CollectiveBias
Lets face it...Holidays are a busy time for Mom! Trying to tackle all the prep for the holiday all while keeping the kids busy and entertained during the day can be a daunting task. On those days that my to-do list is longer than I can imagine, I love to set out a variety of busy bags that my preschooler can play with while I'm busily working. This gives me some free time to get things done and crossed off my list. Last week I used Scotch® Expressions Tapes to help me create this stunning Magnetic Christmas Tree Busy Bag. Although it's intended for kids to play with, I have to admit I've already had quite a bit of fun with it also.

Monster Eyes Counting Game Preschool Printable

Using dice is a simple way for preschoolers to practice counting and learn basic addition and subtraction. We used them in our our recent Pumpkin Candy Addition Activity and my daughter loved it, so I put together another fun preschool math activity for her with a Halloween monster theme. In true monster fashion, we used googly eyes for our counting manipulatives. After downloading the monster eyes counting game preschool printable, get ready for some good giggly fun making silly monsters.

Pumpkin Candy Preschool Math Printable

Now that my preschooler is pretty versed with recognizing and counting numbers up to twenty, I've started to introduce addition to her. Using counting manipulatives is a perfect way to help introduce addition to preschoolers. Not only is it great for fine motor skills having them grip the objects and move them around, but it also gives them a great visual of addition. Our creative preschool theme this week is all about pumpkins so it was a great excuse to buy some fun pumpkin candy and use them with our pumpkin candy preschool math printable to practice addition facts with my daughter.

Preschool Pumpkin Lacing Activity with Printable

Counting and recognizing the teen numbers can be a bit tricky for a preschooler. I've been working with my preschooler on mastering those numbers lately and decided to put together this preschool pumpkin lacing activity as a fun way for her to practice them. It's perfect for fall and Halloween and not only does the activity help preschoolers practice counting and recognizing numbers 1 to 20, but it's fantastic for fine motor skills. I've included both a numbered and blank version of the printable so you can customize it however you choose.  We've also made a heart lacing printable in the past you might enjoy.

Preschool Corn Counting Activity with Printable

One of our favorite activities during the Fall season is visiting a local pumpkin patch that has a huge corn box for the kids to play in. My preschooler loves to lay down in it and have her siblings cover all of her up except her face. Our love for the corn box inspired this Preschool Corn Counting Activity I am sharing with you today. It's a great activity for preschoolers to practice counting, recognizing numbers, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Box Tops Grocery Store Counting Activity

A big thank you to General Mills® for sponsoring today's post. We are avid Box Tops collectors at my house and have been for several years now. I have seen firsthand how beneficial the earnings can be for schools so we love participating in the program! With back to school time here, it's the perfect time to find and stock up on products with Box Tops so you can help your school increase their earnings quickly. Since we are always on the lookout for Box Tops when we go shopping at our local Walmart, I came up with this fun idea to not only keep my kids engaged while shopping, but to also incorporate working on math skills. I know you and your kids are going to love this simple and fun Box Tops Grocery Store Counting Activity!

Today our creative preschool theme is Bugs and I decided to put together this fun Ladybug Alphabet Match Activity for my daughter. She loved putting all the spots on the ladybugs!

Preschool Alphabet Ocean Hunt (Free ABC Ship Printable)

If you are a regular here, you know that I love finding fun ways for my daughter to practice her uppercase and lowercase letters with fun Alphabet games. This week I looked at our globe sitting on our mantel and I thought it would be a great resource for creating a fun Alphabet Ocean Hunt game for my preschooler. Not only did my daughter have a blast with the game but we also talked about the World, the difference between oceans and lands on the map, and she learned where we live on the globe. The free ABC Ship Printable included in this post couples great as a simple preschool craft too.

Alphabet Snowman: Match Capital and Lowercase {Free Printable}

When I made our Alphabet Turkey Match last month I had no idea it would be such a hit with my preschooler. "Slap the Ghost" Halloween Color Game

I was looking for a Halloween-themed way of practicing colors with my preschooler and after remembering how much we loved playing Slap the Ghost a couple years back, I decided to make a color version of the game. (Links to download the game are at the bottom of the post)

The rules of playing the game are simple:

1. Cut the ghost cards out and spread them out so that all players can reach them.

2. Take turns rolling the dice. Once the dice is rolled, see what color it rolled to.

3. Slap the ghost with the correct color. The player that slaps the correct ghost first gets a penny (or bean or M&M, whatever you want to use).

4. The person with the most pennies at the end of the game wins. You can determine how many times the dice is rolled before the game is over. We did 15 rolls each game.

This game is best played with two children the same age for a fair advantage, but I just went easy on her when we played together.  :)  She also enjoyed playing by herself.

I wanted to stretch my daughter's brain a little so I made one board with the classic rainbow colors and another board with common colors (black, white, grey, brown, pink and gold). I had a hard time thinking of a sixth color on the second board, but my daughter likes the color gold so I went with that. To make the dice, I used a set of big dice purchased from Dollar Tree. I covered the dots on each side by taping on a 2" circle of the different colors.

**The ghost clip art used in these printables was found at Clker.com**

My older boys (8 and 6) were eyeballing this game when I played with my daughter and wanted a try so I laid out all 12 cards and we rolled both dice each turn. You had to slap not only one color, but two, making it a little more age-appropriate for them.

I had to laugh because they seriously had just as much, if not more, fun than my 3yr old. I think next time I will tape the cards to the floor so they stay in place a little better with my rambunctious boys.
